Is there an injury or condition (like a stroke or aneurism) or combination that can very quickly make a person paralyzed and unable to speak, but the brain still works? Kind of like Stephen Hawking, but not so gradual.

Is there an injury or condition (or combination) that can very quickly make a person permanently paralyzed and unable to speak, but the brain still works? Also, the person can see and hear, but not respond in any way. Kind of like Stephen Hawking, but not so gradual. (I am writing a story where this happens to a character.)

Sounds like Big C is the insane one. What do you think?

You received a good answer from the RN. It could also be caused by sever trauma to the head or spine

Are you insane? I could tell you but I'm 99% sure you're an evil person. I hope you won't hurt anyone, because if you do... they will punish you. First the Law, then God.
