1. expatriate, studying overseas, living overseas with their spouse or just holidaying?

I moved for many reasons.

1 I wanted to make hijrah.

2. I wanted to be around family(even if it is my husbands family.)

3. I was alone so much as my husband worked alot.

4. I wanted to learn Arabic.

5. I want to raise my kids in a Muslim country.

I could go on and on but those are the major reasons.

I have been here now for 6 months.

3. how often do you go back?

I may have to go back in March if hubby can't find work here. The enonomy is bad here. We me staying here and him going back to the US to work, but the seperation is to hard.

4. how do you cope with the loneliness if you are staying alone?

I live with my in laws and see the other family all the time. But being seperated from hubby is really hard. Sometimes I don't sleep at night. I just realy on Allah. Hubby is here now but soon has to return to the US. InshaAllah he can find work here and we can stay here together.

5. which country are you in right now?

I am in Egypt now and inshaAllah I will be able to stay. What ever Allah wills. Please make dua for me and my family.

I am from US, living in Canada to be with my husband.
I go back to states every month, and to home state every 3 months to visit my kids and grandkids and parents.
I don't get too lonely, between my hubby, my pets and my puter.

And for those who think that the US and Canada are just alike, not true. Yes, lots of similarities, but there are also profound differences.

4. you don't have to be lonely, even if you don't have a spouse. Make Friends, invite them and you will be invited. Travel.
Use your time away from home positively, make the best of it.

i live in sf cali and born here but i was sent and raised in el salvador since i was 1 month old until i was almost 8 then i came here til i was 10 then went back for 1 year and now im back in the USA im 19 and ill be moving for a while with my boyfriend who is german and irish and he loves el salvador cuz its beautiful and the people are so nice to you and theres lots of beautiful people!

I am enjoying every bits of it. Mixed with the local,don't think you are a class above them.
with Internet ,home is very near.
there are many things that keep me occupied,that I don't really missed my home country.

Is Alaska a country? maybe not.... but its big enough to be one thats for sure....i miss it very much and wish that i never moved from there.... i hope to go back soon...its been 8 years
