I had found a better job on Wednesday, and I had went to me other job(I had to work that day anyway) to put in my 2 weeks notice and ask to work just a few hours or a couple days until then, the schedules were due the next day and the boss just told me that after my shift that day, it would be my last day, so is to she wouldn't put me on the schedule the following day. Can she let me go just like that???

Typically yes. Most employement is called "at will" meaning that either side can say later with no notice.

People typically give 2 weeks to an employer so that they do not burn that bridge is the new job does not work out, plus it is professional courtsey.

I would check based on the rules of the state where you work but I have seen a few cases where companies simply tell people to finish out the day and then that is it.

What difference does it make. You only wanted to work for a few hours, a few hours is no good to your current employer, so they let you go. Works well for both from the way you explain it.

Unfortunately, yes.

I gave my 2 weeks at Conservtech, a crappy engineering firm. Despite the fact that no one had my projects, they "let me go" 2 days later.

Their loss, and your company's loss.

Enjoy the time off. It comes few and far in between.
