Sure more attention will be paid to Africa to possess their oil rich countries. Definately not for the betterment of the people.
Big business cares about big business. I'm in Africa doing charity work and the last thing that's happening is the powers that be doing for Africa for Africa's sake.

Africa is a Continent. Want to narrow your interest a bit? What any of this has to do with Oil is really a mystery. To the previous silly person. There is Plenty of oil in Africa. Shell has major fields in Nigeria. They get plenty of money & attention.

I find this question a little racist. People are paying attention to those in Africa and we shouldnt just concentrate on one area of the planet. There are people suffering all over the world and they should all be given the same treatment.

The Muslims are sure paying attention to the
Africans. Heard of Darfur? Muslims killing those who won't submit to their religion of peace. Why not look into Nigeria, for instance, a founding member of OPEC which is ruled under Sharia in the northern part of the country. If Europe, the US and Canada won't bring African nations into the global economy, the Muslims will clear the continent of everyone who isn't Muslim.

More in economic aid and charity comes from the USA annually than all the other nations (and the UN) combined. How about asking all the other "friends of Africa" to ante up for a change!?

Why pay attention to Africa. I lived there for 38 years and I can tell you it is a lost cause. If Africans can't sort themselves out (whilst living in a continent with huge mineral wealth and farming potential) why waste your time and energy worrying about them??
