If he were still alive today, he would have finally become a Republican just recently, as there is an inevitable shift to the right with age. I think it would have taken just about 2,000 years to get from his starting point on the left to that point.

Matthew, to answer your question, I'd look at your namesake Gospel. In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus tells us exactly the criteria by which he is going to judge the world. That's the story where all the nations are separated "as a shepherd would separate sheep from goats", and the sheep were those who saw him hungry and fed him, thirsty and gave him something to drink, naked and clothed him, sick or imprisoned and visited him. But when, the people ask, did we see you like that? 'Whenever you did it to the least of my brethren, you did it to me,' Jesus responds.

So, which political party is more likely to spend its money feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, or caring for the sick and imprisoned?

Your call.

Im pretty sure that jesus was a war-mongering anti-environmental fascist who wanted working people to pay for corporate welfare and tax breaks for the super rich, so jesus would be a republican.

Lot's of reasons (I'm too lazy to type them all) but the one that stands out is that Jesus would save the lives of unborn human babies, while democrats would rather encourage female irresponsibility by assigning "feminine rights" a higher priority than infanticide or human life.

i think jesus would gather all the politicians into one room, both democrat and republican, and then blow them up. plus if he did come back down to earth, i'm sure he would avoid america.

i don't necessarily believe in jesus, but to lower even his legend to such a filthy human-fabricated concept as politics...that is a sin all in itself
