Mammals are the only animals that have an anus--an opening solely for excretory purposes. Birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates have multi-purpose openings or non-sphinctered openings.

a hydra does not have an anus, per se. It has a gastric cavity with one opening that functions in ingestion and waste elimination.

Echinoderms don't (starfishes, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, etc.); neither do Coelenterates (jellyfishes, sea anemones, corals). They have a closed, sac-like digestive system, and wastes come out through the same opening where food goes in.
