During a phone interview or in-house interview, if you are asked a question you don't know answers for (e.g. IT technical question), what do you say?
Do you just say I don't know, but you can learn it quickly?

I honestly don't have an answer to your question, but I will certainly see to it, I have it next time we speak.

That is perfect when you don't know the answer.

It is better to say you don't know than to give them a wrong answer. Sometimes they ask you a question that there is NO WAY you can know the answer, because they want to know what you would do or say.

"I have not encountered that in my experience, but now that you mention it I am curious myself to know the answer." That is what I would admire in someone interviewing. If they really want to impress me they will further state. "When I start with your Company I will be sure to know the answer."
