Now, I dont want any liberal bleeding heart ignorant bullshit. first and formost, i'm not southern, i'm not a redneck. In MY HOUSE, we are not racist (although some may think so, because of our pride of white heritage) BUT...I love my race, and would like for it to be here for generations to come, just as I hope for the other races! Black Power! Hispanic Power! Asian Power! and etc, BUT, seperately...I would like for my daughter to have pride in and further our race, but she is dating a mixed man (whom I do not dislike) but we really pride ourselves on the preservation of our race. I love my daughter and would NEVER force her to do anything against her will, and let me say again for those who are too ignorant to understand this topic, I AM NOT RACIST, but are there any ways to help my daughter appreciate her heritage more?

RACE RACE RACE! What exactly is waiting at the finish line of this RACE we are ALL IN! You say that you do not dislike the boy. Does that mean you like him as a person? Does he have fine human qualities such as honesty, kindness, a good work ethic, etc, that you would appreciate in a "white" man. Are his intentions with your daughter honorable? Is he a man of honor? If he is all or any of these or anything that you consider good in any person than that is all that really matters. The rest is "skin deep". I am a white American of Italian descent, and very far from being a "liberal". I am proud of my ethnic heritage. But I look for the "person" beyond the container that they are in. There are good and not so good people across the board. I am long married to a woman of Native American descent. One of my daughters is married to a man of African American descent. He is a good man in all respects. He is a caring husband and father. He is family oriented and has a strong work ethic, and a strong sense of honor. He is currently serving as a soldier in Iraq in a hostile mission. I am as proud of him as if he were my son. The only IGNORANCE would be to discard these qualities in any person simply based on ethnic heritage, race, hair color, eye color, nose size, extra arms etc. You do not mention how old your daughter is and if she is "serious" about him. If that is the case, the one thing that transcends all of these self errected barriers is LOVE. You need to stop worrying about the white race. It will be here for a very long time to come. Instead, just keep a fatherly eye open for your daughter's well being.

EDIT: I think the main problem with your statement is the word "white". "White" is not a race. What is your heritage? Is it French? German? Russian? English? Take pride in ETHNICITY or HERITAGE, not the color of the skin!!! You're saying that you support each race- that means keeping each ethnicity separate. That means a German shouldn't reproduce with an Italian; that means a Spanish person shouldn't reproduce with a French person-
And there is no such friggin thing as "WHITE HERITAGE"....!!!!! that's complete BS! If you are only talking about the color of the skin, then I am considered "white" although I'm half asian!!!!!! Your thoughts are illogical!!!!

You need to get over preserving a color and try considering preserving where your ancestors came from.....like traditions. In my family we honor our culture by making food from Norway and attending Norwegian events.
You had your chance to "preserve" your white heritage by making the choice of marring your husband. Now let your daughter live her life and make her own choices. If the guy treats her well and doesn't disrespect or beat her.....what is the big deal anyway? We all are the same in the inside and that is what REALLY matters.

There are billions of people on on earth and your decision (plus maybe countless others) to keep a pure race isn't going to change the decisions of many other people who marry for love. Just because your daughter dates another race doesn't mean she isn't proud of who she is. A person's sense of pride should not come from what "race category" they fit in, however it should come from their personal life accomplishments. Intelligence and creativity is what you should be proud of...why? Because, no one on this earth can control who "their" parents were. You have no control over the fact that you are white do you? Your daughters decision to date a mixed person or any other race for that matter is "her" decision....let it be.

Did you know we are all part of one race, the human race? Our various cultures and skin colors are only ethnicity.

You're asking us why we're full of hate, but maybe you need to step back and take a look at your own question. You're being hypocritical. It's good to help your fellow man, but it's beneath white people to mix with others? This might come as a shock to you, but the culture of white people can be carried on and appreciated in a person who is mixed, just like black culture can be carried on in a mixed person also. One doesn't "appreciate" their heritage more by only dating people of their own race. They do it by passing down their culture and traditions to their children, and teaching them to embrace other cultures and be good, moral people. For someone who is preaching appreciation and pride in their culture, you're making white people look pretty bad right now..

How do you know she plans of furthering any race? She might not be interested or could be unable to have children. Would that make her seeing him any better?
What does it matter if you are white or black or any race, isn't it the person within, the goodness of their heart that matters? Try to not see the race or the difference in the person's appearance, but see how alike we really are in the areas that matter.
Love your daughter and give her your permission to ne herself and have an open heart.

I think you're daughter appeciates her white heritage as it is. But she seems to appreciate other heritages too (and is that really a bad thing?).
I don't you're the one being a bit ignorant about this. Have you talked to your daughter about it yet? How does she feel about it?
