Whenever there is unusual treatment there is a reason. You cant know the all secret things around you but you can save up the clues for later. Occasionally it is your fault but life is full of secret groups and things for outsiders. Try to keep up with people that are like you and feel wanted all the time. Remember depression is all about friends and family.

I get just as childish but in a mean sort of way. I'll call them out on the carpet and be all sarcastic.

During a short visit home, my mom gave me the silent treatment for 2 out of 4 days. Even on the trip to the airport. So as I was giving her a hug goodbye (she didn't hug back) I said "Well, let's hope for your sake that this plane doesn't crash because if it does, you're going to feel like a real bi*** for this being my last impression of you."

I'm so mean. So that's how I usually deal with crap like that. I give it back. Sometimes I might be in an irrepressible good mood in which case I'll try to cute my way out of it. Otherwise I stay clear with some comment like 'when you stop being pissed at me for something that no normal person would be pissed about, let me know so we can continue talking.'

I really hate getting the silent treatment.

After the silent treatment, I usually ignore the person for a while. When they are done being petty, I will talk to them again.

I wish someone would give me the silent treatment. Then I can watch TV w/o interruption.

If you have to be in the same room with her and she's not talking to you, read a book, knit, work on crossword puzzles, whatever suits you. Allow peaceful silence to reign.

ignore it, if it doesn't bother you. If you want to make her feel bad, do something really sweet for her.
