Well if you purchased the animal from a breeder or some one stating the animal is pure, or "full blooded" then you should have gotten papers stating so. Registered APBT, stating the sire and female. Not all pits are full blooded, but not all pits have been registered either.

Breeders can sale non-registered pups at a lower cost. So what you paid for the dog may be an indication as well. Color, markings, physical characteristics, demeanor, cropped ears and tail, should hold true to the breed. If the previous owner or breeder has taken the time to insure certain characteristics are shown then you should have a pure breed.

For those trying to correct pure breed from purebred? Pure "breed" is a separate word from "purebred".

To use pure breed is to ask of the animals origin, to use purebred is to state the animals origin.

Your pit bull is not full-blooded, none of them are anymore, that's why they are worthless. Bad cross breeding has made them retarded, that's why they are vicious and can't be trusted. Everytime I hear a new story of someone being attacked by one, I have to wonder why anyone would want a dog that is more likely to turn on you and bite your face off or the face of the kid next door, than be a good dog to have. Get rid of it, get a real dog.

if you have a pit bull, you're 'fool blooded'. Just wait til a 2 year old smacks him and watch the limbs fly.

Scientifically speaking, this is a dominant trait, so if one or more of the parents are fools, the offspring will be as well. Just look at the parents. They're probably sniffing each others' butts, so the answer lies therein.

next time you take your pit to the veterinarian ask the vet his/her opinion if your dog is full blooded....usually they knows and can tell you what mix he may be.
