Its what one is willing to pay for sex, and the society views on selling that product is external factor not included in the price. For example, can get free from a sexually aroused person that is willing offer the services, but are you willing to have sex for free. Its moral, ethical question really? Sex to some doesn't have a price no matter how cheap, or if you get paid to have sex no matter what. Is there demand for sex Yes its called prostitution, and if that trade is illegal just means the sex is supplied on the black market without government players there to take their tax cut. Thailand, Sex is probably cheaper per hour than hiring a kid to flip burgers at a fast-food joint its because paying that cheap for sex is a lot of money to a poor person in a poor country, and the lack of government regulations regrading std testing, age verification. In Netherlands, the cost is probably as much as good lawyer for one hour because of the fact prostitutes pay taxes, and are STD, and HIV tested gotta have age verification records, gotta offer workers comp for a prostitute for missionary position injury that turn out bad. The supply of sex is not limited by money always, and the value of sex is in the eye beholder, no different than a person willing to pay $60 bucks to see a NFL game on Sunday.

Actually, supply and demand is precisely why some men feel the need to pay for sex, and women can get sex for free (or actually charge money - directly, through prostitution, or indirectly through making men buy them expensive stuff to get sex)
Contrary to a widely held belief, there are more sexually active single men then their are sexually active single women.
Single women are more likely than single men to abstain from sex. Also, there are many men who have multiple women (married guys who also have a mistress, men who have more than one wife because they are from cultures where polygamy is OK, guys with more than one girlfriend ect) but there are very few women who have more than one man. And, these days, women are more likely then men to be in gay relationships.
Consequently, there are a much higher number of single men then single women who are actively out there seeking an intimate partner.
A certain number of men get left by the wayside without a woman, so they have to go out and hire a prostitute.
Also, the relatively few single women who are out there looking are at an advantage - they can make men spend money on them - drinks, dinners at expensive restaurants, jewelry, cars, outright cash gifts ect - and guys will pay, because if they don't then they won't get any (and the next guy who antes up with the cash will)

Because men are dumbed-down when in a state of sexual arousal. All the blood from the cranial area rushes to the site of engorgement thus depriving the gray matter of an oxygen-rich blood supply. When men are in this state they couldn't even spell "economics" much less realize that there's a principle involved................

Actually, the theory of "high supply-low demand = low price" really depends on the price/demand elasticity. In this case, it can depend on the country. Try to differentiate Thailand and Holland. Both countries can be head-to-head in terms number of "units," but when it comes to price, Holland's price is a lot higher than Thailand's. So, can your "theory" work on these types of "goods?" Not necessarily.
