By trial and error, over many years, I formulated a plan that works beautifully. Step one is advice from my Dad .. imagine 'em parked nekkid on the commode ..or drunk and puking into it.. it brings them right down off their pedestal. And will probably make you laugh, too .. thereby taking your mind off the current circumstance.

Step Two is from my Mom .. picture yourself five or ten years from now ... and ask yourself how much this will REALLY matter then. Chances are, you will decide .. not very much, thank you!

Believe it or not, after the public humiliation Paris Hilton faced she has carried her head high during and since the 'video ordeal.'
How? I mean, other 'n the fact she's richer than everyone that slams her .. ... ... She ignores them.

Sometimes silence is absolutely and profoundly deafening.

Step three is to keep your sense of humor. I categorize humiliating incidents as vocabulary enrichment or character enhancement! Gotta laugh. A sense of humor will get you through tough times better 'n anything.

Step four .. what ever happens today ... stays in today. Do not drag it into tomorrow. Cry, scream, write poetry.or meditate....do whatever you need to do to deal with the emotion and then DO NOT drag it into tomorrow. Tomorrow is a fresh slate.

George Carlin advises ' don't sweat the petty stuff .. and don't pet the sweaty stuff!' It's all petty stuff, in the end dear.
