i'm sure the kids are better off than in africa, but i think these celebrities do it to make them feel cutting edge cool.. not because they want to help humanity..how much time do they actually spend parenting?...these kids are raised by nannies..i think it just proves how phony these celebrities are....

How many celebs have you seen adopting African children? Angie and Madonna?
Mothering is a tough job; why take it on for publicity sake when you can do sometime that takes up less time and gets the same publicity?

And, in Angelina's case.. you can see she's very motherly with her children, she's always holding them (and sometimes 2 at a time).

As far as Madonna.. lol.. What other publicity would she need? I mean, the whole Crucifixion thing gave her a great deal of publicity already. She didn't need to adopt a child for that because the public seems to watch her like a hawk and some criticize anything she does.

As far as I'm concerned, adoption is a great thing; if gone about the right way. Africa needs all the help it can get and if their adoption of African children can bring public attention to Africa's crises, that's a good thing.

I think in some places, such as China, there is a 'glut' of children awaiting adoption. I think in these cases the child benefits in having parents over not having parents; however, if there are plenty of families that want to adopt that are more closely matched with the children, it is better if these families adopt the children. On the other hand, would you rather live in a mansion or in a hut? lol!
