For talent, I think they're equal. For staying power, I think U2 has demonstrated they have huge amounts, but I see potential in Coldplay. For my personal preference, I prefer Coldplay.

I believe U2 is. They have been one of the top bands since the 1980s, and still are today. Coldplay is great, but they're depressing. U2 is more uplifting in both playing wise and helping people. Most of U2s songs have stuck and don't get old. Coldplays songs can get overplayed, depressing(again), and can get old. Love them both though.

I prefer U2, I've been a fan for about 17 years now. I have most of their songs on iTunes, I've seen them in concert 3 times... They are my most favorite band in the world. Bono has the most amazing voice. He can do anything.
I checked out a Coldplay CD from my local library and recorded it to my computer, and honestly, I never listen to it. It's the X and Y one, whatever it's called! It's failed to 'grab' me, but perhaps I should give it another listen.

That's kind of hard i like them both i couldn't really tell you which one is better, but U2 is a kind of old band.
