The best: Seeing someone for whom you provided care improve in their current state of health or well-being as a direct result of your intervention OR seeing them succumb to their illness...but peacefully due to your support and counseling.
The worst: Surprisingly, it is not that someone did NOT get better due to your interventions, but rather that their last moments were either spent in fear and depression OR that the emotional state in which they left the the hospital/clinic was agitated and resentful of their lot in life.

The best part I believe is the fast money you can get easily, the worse part is you have to pretty much work like a slave. There is, actually, a great shortage of nurses now in the united state cause of this reason. Before, women were the majority working as nurses, then the world changed and women started to see better careers for themselves. If you want to pursue something other than nursing, i will highly recommend it. Nursing is a tough job and most people do complain after a long day of work. I am pretty sure you want a job you would be happy with. But again, if you love helping people, I believe this is the occupation for you. People have a great deal of respect for nurses aswell. Good luck.

I'm not a nurse, but I think saving someone's life would be the very best part of being a nurse. The worst part might be the hours you work. Nurses are needed 24x7, so you might have to work the midnight shift at first.

The best part, simply knowing that you make a difference to people.
The worst part, well, lets just say that I am scheduled the day before Christmas eve, Christmas Eve and Christmas day, The day before New Years Eve, New Years Eve and New years day, I also worked Memorial day and Labor day and will be working Halloween as well as every other weekend. I am also newly married and the new mom of 3 wonderful step kids,

The best part is helping people... the worst part can be your hours. If you have a family, your hours will have an impact if you work for a hospital... no doubt you'll have to work late shifts and double shifts from time to time.
