The other day i was reading something and it was a study on how thoughts effect your body and it was tested using your pinkie finger. They had 3 tests to determine this. The 1st group worked out there pinkies for 2 times every week. The 2nd group just thought about working out there pinkies. And the 3rd group did nothing. The results were:1st group pinkies became 35% stronger, the 2nd became 16% stronger, and of course the 3rd group dinit see a change. My qeustion is if this same method works on your hieght.if you think about growing, will you grow taller?

Nope, sorry. But the height you finally reach is determined mostly by your genes, and a small bit by the nutritional habits you had in your formative years. The pinkie finger, on the other hand, is composed of small muscles and ligaments so of course it can be strengthened with exercise, like any muscle.
As far as the group of students who increased their pinkie strength by 16% by just thinking about it, there are a couple explanations. One--they actually exercised it, even though they weren't supposed to: or Two--they were just more prepared and psyched up for the strength test the second time they did it, since they knew what to expect and also had incentive to put on a good show.
Even though I'm a psych student, and I realize the mind can do alot, I have to draw the line at it strengthening muscles without exercise.

lol i dont think so..maybe they were thinking about working there pinkies so much that they probably worked them with out noticing. i mean they could have durin sleep. its proven the sub conscious mind is very strong, probably stronger then our conscious mind..i mean some times we do stuff without knowing that we are even doin it. or why we are doing it.
