If you are referring to the abbreviations in relationship to the degree they have then a D.O. is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Which is applying the philosophy of treating the whole person. (A holistic approach.) I found an article on Wikipedia that might be of more help to you.

I'm a future D.O. - it stands for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine which is a fully licensed medical doctor with additional training in osteopathic manipulation in case they choose to use that in practice (most don't).

Doctor of Osteopathy, generally the equivalent of MD with additional training somewhat similar to a Chiropractor.

Osteopathic physicians, also known as D.O.s, work in partnership with their patients. They consider the impact that lifestyle and community have on the health of each individual, and they work to erase barriers to good health. D.O.s are licensed to practice the full scope of medicine in all 50 states. They practice in all types of environments including the military, and in all types of specialties from family medicine to obstetrics, surgery, and aerospace medicine.
