People try to take my dignity all the time. Bosses, coworkers, people I meet at various times. I sometimes get upset, and sometimes let them think they've taken it, but it's still intact. I just get mad. Then bad things happen to those people (and I, by the way, had nothing to do with those bad things happening-- they were "acts of God", if you will) and I know it was Karma-- they were bad to me, so they got it in the end. On the flip side, those who are good have good things happen to them often. The one exception is those who wallow in the same frustrations without ever making a change. They do lose their dignity and much more. Why? They create their own hell and live in it every day without trying to make things better. If someone or something is causing you stress, you don't sit there and take it-- you speak up, you vent frustrations, you go have fun, but you don't let those frustrations fester. That's when you lose your dignity and your slice of heaven on earth.

I hold my head high with dignity today and everyday knowing that I have served my country and the office of the President of these United States of America honorably for over 20 years. That is something no one can take away from me and I will carry that dignity to the grave with me.

Yes, I finally have my dignity back. I let it be stolen from me by methamphetamine for 3 years ..in that time I lost not only my dignity but my family and nearly my life. I walked away, that is very unusual for someone as deep in it as I was, but I just woke up one morning and thought "What are you doing?" I checked into Re-hab that day and have been sober for 4 years. so, yes I have my dignity!!!

Yeah, I have my dignity at age 41, but only because of a long, continuous war with my family of origin and the American culture, and the cost is a life of poverty and being pathologized by you Americans.
Thanks pals

I still have it. Never denied or lost it. No one can steal or take your dignity, except for you.

It makes me mad when people say I turned and ran like a scared rabbit. Maybe it was like an angry rabbit, who was running to go fight, away from the first fight.
