ok, i had to take a "hair folicle" drug test today at work & i have smoked weed 2 times in the past 3 months... once about a month ago, once about 2 1/2 months ago.... am i doomed to lose my job???

I think that they are supposed to offer you rehab or something like that. But it depends on what you do for a living. If there is a safety issue for you, your co-workers or others then perhaps you can be terminated. You need to read your employee handbook on the drug testing section and go from there. Often it won't say anything about drugs being a cause for termination. I personally would deny ever using any drugs at all. If they ask you if you do drugs...JUST SAY NO! Good luck and you know they call weed a drug but it is technically just and herb. Do they test for alcohol or nicotine or caffeine? Now those are real drugs. Herbs are good for you. i hope you can keep your job if you really truly like it.If they are drug testing you then you may see want to see this situation as an opportunity instead of a disaster...

It may depend on how much you smoked although I think that hair folicle tests can measure very small traces from a long, long time ago.
However, eating a poppy seed muffin can show up as pot too. Hang loose...you might be surprised what it may or may not reveal.
Whether or not you will lose your job...depends on what job you hold, which state you're in and exactly what they find.
Maybe you could ask an attorney...they will know the legality of the test.

Maybe it will not be that strong and you can say it was second hand. By the way, weed stays in African American's hair for 6 months after you smoke it!

Heh, well unless you work at a place where the boss also smoke, I'd say your toast and maybe you should start looking for another. Even if you don't get fired, management still spreads nasty rumors. But maybe your co-workers are cool with that. Good luck!

It is ok......you won't get fired until they get the results and then you can dispute it saying it was second hand.........truth!

Yes. More jobs require drug testing even before you're hired. Quit smoking pot. It might not save your job, but might save your life and your health.
