You have adware/spyware on your PC.
All of these are ones that I personally use and all are free.
Try this scan, its free, it removes
I-Worm/Stration · BackDoor.Generic3.GBB and .GBC · Worm/Generic.FX · Exploit.WMF

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

Well, there is a possibility that your computer is infected with adware and/ or spyware. I recommend downloading 2 free anti-spyware software programs, both are very effective. Download Lavasofts's Ad Aware and Safer Network's Spybot Search & Destroy at (http://www.filehippo.com/software/antispyware/). After installing the programs, update the signatures and scan your computer. Please read the following 2 articles on how to use them:
1. "How to effectively remove Malware using Ad-Aware SE Personal" -- malware help.org (http://www.malwarehelp.org/how-to-effectively-remove-adaware1.html)
2. "How to effectively remove Malware using Spybot Search & Destroy" -- malware help.org (http://www.malwarehelp.org/how-to-effectively-remove-malware-spybot1.html)
Run a scan and quarantine any suspicious files. Afterwards, you can go to Popup Test (http://www.auditmypc.com/freescan/popup/popup-test.asp)
to check the effectiveness of your popup blocker. In addition, the site also hosts several free popup blocker programs.

If there are pop-ups getting through, this tells me a few things.
1.) You're not using Firefox, you're using Internet Explorer.
2.) You may have spy-ware.
Grab a few programs:
Ad-aware (finds spyware) - http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Spybot Search & Destroy (finds spyware) - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
Zonealarm (blocks hackers) - http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
AVG (finds viruses) - http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10596553.html?tag=lst-0-1
Firefox (alternative to Internet Explorer that blocks pop-ups and spyware, amongst other very, very cool things) - http://getfirefox.com/
Install the spyware and virus finders, the firewall and make using Firefox a very good habit.
You'll be much less likely to have this problem again.
