The greatest love of all is the love between the parents and their children. I mean one's father and mother love them definitely and unconditionally since they've given birth, provided food, taken care in time of illness, supported financially, advised when in trouble, etc. In brief, some parents even defended their children with their lives whatever any harm came near, we see those heroic defense in news reports once in a while everywhere in the world.

There is only one love in the world, and in our lives; the only love that is the reason for us being alive. We can have only one love in our life. Now, how much of this love we are able to give to other people depends upon who those people are, and how much of that love we have realised in our own life. There is no universal principle either assuring that greatest love can only exist between parents and the child, between husband and wife, or between us and some one we feel we are in love with. How much love exits between two people depends upon both people.
And if a great deal of love has flown toward our own wellbeing than many great relations in our life will depend upon us. We will be able to give love to others just as we have learnt to receive love from our own self. To know one self is to know all people, and to be able to love one self is to be able to love most of the people.
The only one love that we have in life is the love of self, from which all other forms of love find their lives. The love of self is the greatest of all love as it is the source. We often experience self-love in form of love for life and for the things of life.

When you exclude "God or children", then you are excluding the answer to your question. So, what do you want: us to be creative or to give you an answer?
I said that the greater love is the one God has towards humanity, because we weren't his friends, but he still gave is only son to die for us.
