Window is downloading updates and it is taking so long!!!!
it is 44% and it has been 4hrs.
My internet is not Dsl, or phone thingy, but it is cable. It should go fast but it doesn't.
This is a new update...
how can i cancel it, it is slowing down everything and i can't even write down a letter with it lagging.

how can i cancel it?

it doesn't open it doesn't tell me what it is downloading...
in the taskbar it is a yellow shield with an "!"... please help

1)Right click does not work. Nothing seems to be popping up.
2)Ctrl+alt+Delete, nothing shows up.

click control alt delete and disable that way.

Well you probley have this solved by now.
Unplug computer from the wall. then restart after a few mins.

Disable automatic updates and set it to alert you only so you can download manually from the Microsoft website! I agree 4 hours is to long for a cable connection, I would just shut the computer down if you can't cancel it.

All you have to do is right click on the yellow shield with your mouse. (Sometimes you have to click more then once for the yellow shield to open).

Microsoft does not tell you what they are downloading, but you can cancel and let it download overnight. Or some other time.
