According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year (the only members of the deer family, Cervidae, to have females do so), male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.
Therefore, according to every historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, every single one of them, from Rudolf to Blitzen ... had to be a female.
We should have known this.... Only women would be able to drag a fat man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night, and not get lost.
Really though, both males and females have horns, so any or all of them could have been males. Who knows?
Here's my best guess:
Comet - Male
Cupid - Male
Vixen - Female
Dancer - Male
Prancer - Female
Blitzen - Male
Dasher - Male
Donder - Female
Rudolph - Male

They're not female, because then they'd be called reindoe. However, there may be a few females mixed with the males, the term "reindeer" covering both sexes.
Leave a note out for Santa.
Usually a plate of cookies and a few carrots works wonders. Somewhere not too far from the chimney so he sees it.
Rudolf is male: "All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call HIM names."

That first answer hurts because of its clear ignorance. If reindeer are sterile, then how is there a productive reindeer based trade in Northern Norway, especially in the county of Finnmark, where all the Sami live? No, reindeer are in fact a separate, fully capable species.

All males. Females have more sense than to fly around the world all night.

i could no longer conform to this record that Santa's reindeers are all lady. possibly it quite is a fifty-fifty ratio. i do no longer think Santa might hire the weaker intercourse to accomplish the artwork of bringing him around the area with this type of heavy load.

Well, with names like prancer, vixen, and dancer, I would assume that most are female, and since the fish and wildlife service states that the female of the species keeps their antlers while the males loose them, I would say that they are all female.
