I'm not a homophobe or anything but I find it very curious that every male interior designer that comes to my house is gay and you can tell by his flamboyancy and the way he talks.

Most straight guys are conditioned to think of certain work as being too 'feminine' for straight guys, and interior design is one of those fields. So guys who care about appearing straight will tend to avoid that kind of thing, and guys who tend to be more effeminate anyway will tend to think that kind of work would be good for them. That's also why there's many more flamboyant gays than 'butch' gays in that line of work.
Tho not all effeminate men are gay either. Some are very straight despite not being all that interested in traditional masculine roles.

Well, I would guess it has to do with being able to see things from a perspective that straight people don't have. I also think it has to do with people face difficulties in life tend to be more creative. While gay people are in all professions we do seem to be better hairstylists, fashion designers, florists. Maybe because we see the ugly side of the world and want to make it prettier.
Also since we are forced to create an image to get by in the real world we are better at it.
Or it could be a simple as straight people believing the stereotype and make gay designers more desirable.
Tell you the truth I know some designers that are god-awful but they still get work.

How do you know most men designers are gay? I might be wrong but I've never read any polls on it. If you don't like gay men designers then hire a woman, but watch out she might be a lesbian, would that bother you too?

It is because their attitude towards life in genral is vey optimistic and rewarding to look upon one day as a fine day and your surroundings have allot to do with that. By recedorating your place to enhance those feelings makes you a much better person and Gay designers are one big step in America to rid this disease of depression believe it or not.

How about male nurses, male English teachers, department store window dressers, clerks in Pier One, Bombay Company, and any bookstore. On the opposite end, women gym teachers, women military commands, women bikers, and pet store clerks, many are dykes.

What's that all about? But why are many diners owned by Greeks, Indians in 7-11, Italians in pizzerias, Irish firefighters, Black porters on trains, Chinese laundries, etc.

Its probably because there are not many straight men who are interested enough in interior design to make it their occupation, and if they are intersted in it they probably wouldnt because everyone would assume they r gay

In our world, there are sex role stereotypes that re-inforce the masculine gender role of being strong, without emotional ties, to be the bread-winner, to not cry, to pork as many girls as possible, to be the 'fixer of problems' to dominate. The female gender role is to be obedient, pretty, artistic, emotional, to nurture, to be creative.

Gay men are in touch with the female gender role more comfortably than straight men Straight men are not 'allowed' to be creative, poetic, artistic. It is not 'masculine'....

Gay men are not inhibited about being creative (ie 'girly') because we don't fit the 'normal' male role of being 'masculine'.

Good question....

Well only girls really care about their hair a lot. So im guessing gay men care more about hair and made a job out of it.

Unless you are grown up enough to ask them , then don't make stereotypical assumptions.

Only having an irrational fear of homosexuality would make you homophobic, so its entirely possible that you are simply an intolerant bore.
