I would like to die saving someone else's life, what about you?

I want to die knowing that I lived a wonderful life. I prefer a quick and harmless death. Maybe a quick heart attack in my sleep.

I'd rather not die at all, if I have the option ;-)
If I don't, then I just hope it's quick. In my sleep would be nice. In a fiery crash at high speed in some kind of vehicle would do, as long as I'm already old and going to die soon anyway! Saving somebody else's life would be noble and good as well.

When I'm being loopy, which is often, I say--by a bolt of lightning. I've also wondered if hypothermia might be a "peaceful" way to go, say--like on top of the highest mt. with nothing but white snow, looking down on white clouds & listening to Vaughn Williams. (A Sea Symphony, or, The Lark Ascending?) Sorry I'm not "noble" like you, or some of the others. I'd just prefer to vanish when I die. Better for everybody.

Unlike most answers I've read here, I would still like to be relatively young and lucid when I die; I want to be capable of experiencing it to the fullest extent. I do not want to die in my sleep; I want to be THERE when one of the most unique and final things life has to offer happens to me. I would rather it not be suicide, unless I decide to carry it out in order to avoid -God forbid- a long, distasteful amd pointless period of suffering, as in, for example, a terminal disease of some form. If it just HAS to be suicide, I'd rather it be at the pinnacle of a moment of ecstatic happiness and contentment, one of those few moments -far apart in years, but neatly organized and juxtaposed in my memory- when I want nothing more than what I already have.

I am no altruist. I'd wish to die in sleep but then my present behavior may not permit that kind of death. I may perhaps get killed speeding.
