Reefer madness is a movie/musical about what happened when reefer was newly discovered in a small town. There are 2 different versions of the movie. 1 is an older black and white movie and the other is new, which comes on showtime, with the star of verionica mars, kristen bell.

It's the title of a propaganda film from the 'thirties, made to scare people about marijuana. It's really over the top.
If you didn't know better, you'd think that taking one hit of marijuana would make you into a drug-addicted fiend, and would immediately ruin your life. Well, that's the opinion you might have after watching the film, that is.
It's considered comical by a lot of people, and I can't help but laugh because it's so outlandish. But it's also a little creepy, too.
It's a good example of how propaganda can be used to sway public opinion. It convinced people that marijuana was a dangerous drug - more akin to crack cocaine or heroin, and that the drug laws being passed at the time were justified.

It's a hilarious government public service movie in the 1950s? telling America's youth about the evils of marijuana...quite humorous.
