I took a preg test today and it was positive, well i have had many things going through my mind, i was on the pill, and i guess it is hard gor me to believe. I ran across this article today that says a woman can have a false pregnancy, where she experiences all the symptons, the uteras enlarges, breast are sore, and you miss your period. I guess i am wondering if this has happened to anyone, and is it possible that this is my case. Or am i just having a hard time excepting this. Please help!

I think you should go to the doctor let them do a test because sometime the home test are wrong. I have heard of fals pregnancy but usally it happens to people who really want to have a baby but cannot get pregnant. And being on birth control does not mean you will not get pregant it is only 98% effetive and many differnt thisgs can affect it, such as medicane or if you miss a pill. I just think you should go to the doctor and let them do a test and than you will know for sure.

Hi, I had a phantom pregnancy. It is called psuedo pregnancy. I had a positive pregnancy result from the chemist/doctor and I was given a date of delivery. A few weeks after this, i was told i had misscarried.. and I was sent for a scan and the sonographer said there had been no sign of pregnancy in my uterus. The last thing I wanted was another baby and my doctor said that sometimes this is as powerful as someone who is desperate for a child. This happened to me around 1991.

Ok, there are a couple thinks. First off, you can have a false positive. But the only bad thing about a false positive is that if you test to early and then you miscarry. (This is a false positive)
Second, a false pregnancy it where a women tricks her mind into "thinking" that she is pregnant. They "think" that they see that extra line on the Pregnancy test. If you see a line and your friends see the line, you ARE pregnant. I would take another test. If it is positive again, that you need to see a doctor. More then likely, you are pregnant.

I am reasonably sure that false pregnancy does not cause a postive pregnancy test because there is no placenta to create hcg. Please go see a doctor and find out for sure, and until you are sure act like you are pregnant. Don't drink etc.
If you are pregnant get some good counselling to accept it and decide what to do.
Best of Luck!
