It depends on what area of fashion you want to study. Fashion design? Fashion forecasting? Fashion merchandising? There are so many different branches to study, it really depends on what area interests you most. Would you rather learn how to make patterns or marketing, economic influence on trends or fashion illustration, etc.
Try phoning various colleges and asking about their programs. They can send you brochures and information about what courses they offer and which one might be the best choice for you. Look in the phonebook or even google fashion schools to find some you might be interested in. You should also try talking to a highschool career counselor, they usually plenty of information on various schools.
Here are some websites with schools that have fashion programs listed:

As a side note, don't be concerned about getting into a fashion program at an 'elite' fashion school. Smaller schools are perfectly fine as well, the important thing is to learn what you want to learn and make connections in the industry.

Parsons or FIT definitely..if you're into hardcore fashion and super talented. (Be ready to show portfolios, works, etc.) If you're thinking of dabbling try Philadelphia University. Project Runway's first season winner went there for a couple years and I heard they have a fine fashion program. It's a beautiful school too and very small and personable. I even got accepted there..but chose not to go away to college because I'm an idiot. Pursue fashion if you love it, though and don't listen to what anyone says. If you love the ever-changing wonderful world of fashion..get into it!

Go to the old cartoon in which 2 fashion designers are sitting at their drawing boards and one of them says to the other, "Just for the hell of it, this year let's see if we can get them to wear turtle neck evening gowns." That's probably as realistic a start as any.

optionnumber8's school of fashion. pay wut you can and on time then go down to local mall food court and go with girlfriends and sit back and take notes on everyone's fashion and then compare notes. then go to stores and look at fashions there for the common person and look at ways to make them better at little expense, then go to fabric store look and study everyone there and study what they are buyin and study the prices and fabrics there and then look at the patterns and make something take pics of you or friends wearing it sell it to them and send me the money. after several years of this i will send you a certicate of optionnumber8's school of fashion. it will be very rare but trust me on this very awesome
