Yes, they help you learn even if it is not in your desired subject. If you have ever played a good MMORG the learning curve is rather steep. You have to learn the economy and the lingo fast if you don't want to be ripped off. The problem is intrenching the learning down deep enough so that the game is entertaining.

I think they can. I learned most of my vocabulary through video games. If anything else, they can raise your imagination and creativity. Although, I am sure some would rot your brain. It depends a lot on the game.

YES, THEY CAN HELP WITH HAND EYE COORDINATION. SOME GAMES ARE MORE HELPFUL LEARNING THAN OTHERS. FOR INSTANCE, WHEN I WAS LITTLE I USED TO PLAY A GAME CALLED "WHERE IN THE (WORLD OR US) IS CARMEN SAN DIEGO" I LEARNED GEOGRAPHY THROUGH THAT.

yes, it opens your brain to find out new and unique methods to tackle the problems. With every failure u try to overcome it with a new move. This utilizes your brain and similarly u start applying the same in solving the real life time problems

Yes, they could. For example, there is this awesome game, god of war, and it is very hard. you have to use your brain. I had to use the walkthroughs through the whole game! But they do make you smart. I play them and i'm the smartest in my class

some of them (like brain age for DS, big brain academy for DS, etc.) but not all. some of them (such as superman 64 for nintendo 64, which by the way, sucked) will probably make your brain dumber
