I like you're thought process. Yes, bring Soriano back. Who wouldn't want his bat in the lineup. As far as Cashman is concerned, if our Bombers don't get fitted for rings by the end of next season George might trade him!! A-Rod, Shamus said, is not a New York kind of guy. His numbers don't mean much when he rarely comes through when it counts. I'm not very worried about pitching although maybe I should be however with a lineup like the Yankees have, they can we 95 games by default. The only place Soriano was happy was in New York. That in itself can only increase his numbers!!! I like it!!

It's hard not to consider a 30-30 or 40-40 guy. He was happy in New York and pretty much said he wished he could have stayed. The fact that the Yankees are winners could motivate him even more. We all know about A-Rod's stats but he had proven time and time again that he can't handle the "Big Apple" when all eyes are on him. I like the idea. As far as pitching. Cashman will figure it out. Hell, we'll just beat everyone to death with runs!! lol

I love Soriano, I was upset when they traded him, even though we got A-Rod back in return, but I just don't think he fits anywhere. He is a liability at second, and Cano is improving rapidly. Larry Bowa says that Cano will win a Gold Glove someday.
Soriano would have to play left if he was on the team, which means Matsui would have to DH. The Yankees would like Giambi to DH next season, as they want to find a real first baseman, so that kills that idea.
Soriano was a lot of fun to watch, but with his high strikeout rate, huge salary, and defensive problems, he doesn't fit what they Yankees are trying to do. Sheffield is the same thing, but without the strikeouts, and he will be gone too.

alfonso soriano and the yankees are not a good fit for three reasons 1 they already have a second basemen in robinson cano and 2 they have a crowded out field 3 he's gonna want alot of money if alfonso soriano comes back to newyork it's gonna be with the mets because he can return to playing second base he hates the out field and the mets have an opening at second base and they would like to add his bat in their lineup so it's a better fit and the would be willing to give him closer to what he would want in terms of money then what the yankees would be willing to spend

Fonzie is staying right here in DC. He hasn't been happier anywhere else. The Nats would have traded him if he didn't give them reason to think he'll stay. They didn't dump Livan an his payroll numbers for no reason.
If he wants to play second, Vidro can't last forever. The Nats are overloaded in the outfield. Kearns and Guillen both are good players in right. Nook Logan played well enough to be a contender for center field starter next year. That leaves Ryan Church for left if he stays healthy.
Look for the Nats to pave the way by trading Vidro to a team that needs a veteran presence at second.

Well, if for some reason that A-Rod is dealt, Cano could move to third, he played third in AAA and Soriano could move back to second, so possibly Soriano returning could happen. But I believe that this is a stretch

Soriano holds the record for K's in a post-season. He's just another A-Rod. Don't need him at all.

Mick,Let me ask you this,,Where are we supposed to put him!!WE really don't need anymore super stars with BIG EGOS,Listen we could have had him in july,But i heard the reason we didn't sign him was because,,when we had him,,he was very hard to get along with,he had a real attitude problem. They went with Bobby Abreu he fits in much better.Soriano will be better off somewhere else.

It would be nice to get Sori back but the reality is that the current situation may not permit that, with Matsui in left, Damon in center and Abreu in right there is really nowhere to put him at least for now, although I would wonder if someone would think of putting Sori in CF and moving Damon to 1st. Just a wild thought.

I don't think the Yankees are above bringing in anyone, or anything to win the World Series, so yes, he can go home.
