Actually, the center sneak is allowed, however their are rules to be eligible. The center, after the snap, must turn 180 degrees from the line of scrimmage before he can legally accept a handoff while behind the line of scrimmage.

I've only seen 1 center actualy move a ball for positive yardage. It was a dolphins center about 4 or 5 years ago, the ball bounced off the DT to his right and he managed to snatch it out of the air and take it about 7 yards up field.

The only way a ball could be handed forward to the center or any other player on the line for that matter is if that player turns to face the backfield before he receives the handoff. This helps establish the fact that he's on his side of the neutral zone when the ball is handed forward, thereby preventing a penalty for illegal forward handing.

Sure.
The QB must touch the ball for the snap to count, but after that he can hand the ball off to the center.
You see it a lot in flag football, but not so much in the pros because centers are normally well over 300 lbs and don't run very well.

The QB must touch the ball first to put the ball in play. A coach wiil give the officials a heads up to look for it.
