it is probably a problem with the detent cable ...if you don't know how to adjust it...take it to a garage...pretty simple process but difficult to explain on here. It is possible that your governer is bad...but unlikely as you would experience problems in other gears as well.

I will attempt to tell you how to adjust the throttle detent. there is a silver clip which holds the detent in place at your throttle body...depress this...then open the throttle all the way...then release it slowly....then let off of the clip. This should set the detent properly.

You need a 200-4-R or an E8OD. The 700R4 is an over-engineered transmission. Could be nearly anything wrong with it. There are only 4000 parts in that transmission. Take a dart and throw it at the list. Start there. Good luck.

I dont know i have a 98 Chevy suburban and i hate overdrive i think it sucks i use regular Drive unless i go over 50 miles an hour.and 1 thing that really hurts them trannys is backing up and not stopping and shifting in to drive.
