I watched it a long time ago on TV. I don't remember if it was monsters or aliens, but I remember that they weren't afraid of anything except cats, so the cats saved the day.

Im not sure if this is the movie but Stephen King has a movie called Sleepwalkers and the monsters are affraid of cats Hope it helps

I saw Sleepwalkers in the movies, I was pretty young and kinda bored with the movie. The sex scene was uncomfortable since I was watching it with my mother. I do remember them hatting cats with a passion though!
