It depends more on Anguish rather than pain. Emotional pain is sometimes harder to bear than physical pain. The mind controls the body and if the mind is injured or in pain it manifests itself and physical pain. That is perfectly normal. Illnesses can be caused by mental stress. For what it is worth, it is called Psychosomatic. I understand what type of bomb you are talking about. No one should treat another with such lack of consideration of the moment.

Blunted affects lead to tensions of various kinds. Mental anguish can stop the parasympathetic neural responses and start up the sympathetic responses (releasing cortisol, adrenalin, etc.) which will use up the body's energy resources over time. In the sort run though, the increased reuptake of seritonin from a perceived distressing event can mess with your digestive smooth muscle systems, which are rather sensitive to seritonin levels.

its because when you get depressed, the thing that you are depressed about consumes your whole world.thats all you think about. constantly. the whole aspect of that problem. now normally we think about things only for a moment and then were on to the next or you just have nothing to think about. nonthe less you feel fine normally. but when you are cosumed with a problem and it eats at you while you keep grabbing at the whos , wheres, whens, whys, hows ,of the problem, we tense up, start getting panicy, anxious, nervous, confused, it alot of wear and tear on your body because theres no way when you feel like that that you will be relaxed.how can you. and have you ever noticed that when you feel this way you feel tired, achy just plain exausted, its because of a system over load. i recoment that when you are stressed like that, take a few moments to slow down and breath, calm down, clear your thoughts the best you can and stretch a little. when you get tense like that, stretching always helps ya loosen up

Pain is both physical and emotional, both hurt. The emotion of pain as opposed to a headache......both pain.
