I am a registed democrat so I dont hate them, but they just try to please to many people across the board and appeal to all the voters instead of focusing on the people who would actually vote for them

The Dems are in a horrible position right now, because their base is out of step with the mainstream. For example, to win a primary you have to be anti-war (Lemont/Lieberman), but to win an election you have to have an agressive national security policy (Hilary Clinton). That's why we're getting so much "mush" at the moment.

I think you misunderstand democrats. We are the party of all voters, all people, anywhere. I think that means we are the ones with the true backbones and the higher values, because we don't exclude anyone. Winning is great, but not at the price of losing our personal values.

At this point the parties are trying to get support for there causes. The best thing the DEM'S can do is watch and wait for the REPS to eat it over Katrina and the middle east.

i agree, another problem: the democrats are good people with good ideology, but when people see nuts like michael moore and cindy sheehan. it gives the dems a bad name. like terrorists give muslims a bad name.

I think they need to regroup and get a clear platform.

I must say though...that even "unfocused" I have more faith in them then I do for the other side.

Thats the Democratic way. Thats the main reason I didnt like Clinton. Tried to please everyone. Followed polls.
