I am writing an essay on a chapter of John Locke's "An Essay Concerning Human Understanding". The chapter I am doing is, Of The Reality of Human Knowledge in Book IV.

My thesis is that Locke's definition of knowledge is extremely limited.

My teacher told us "You guys are not reputable philosophers, so you need to find philosophers that back up your point of view"

Any suggestions?

Plato held a COMPLETELY different view of knowledge then Locke.
In fact Locke's essay can be considered a response to Plato.
