There are no pros or cons – it is just a matter of your personality and the lifestyle you want. Frankly, there are many people who do not like “hard sales”; others thrive on it.
But here are some facts and suggestions:
Typically, for every 100 people who get their license to sell life insurance, within three years 97% are out of the business -- and the bulk of these are out in less than one year. How much money you make depends on what type and how many policies you sell. Many insurance companies, when recruiting, ask you how many people you know. The purpose of this is so that you can solicit friends and family; in addition, you can get referrals from them. The bottom line: you are out of the business when you run out of people to talk to. And while an established agent may be able to keep regular office hours, many starting out have to work late to accommodate their client’s schedule (e.g. evening appointments at the customer’s home). I get irritated when critics suggest that insurance agents make “too much commission”. Frankly, if it were an easy job, every body could do it, and the compensation would be low.
I suggest that if you are going to sell life insurance, join a reputable company. Surveys show that in the abstract, the public has a low opinion of the “insurance industry”; strangely, they have high opinions of good brands -- such as MetLife. Also, see what type of training programs they have for product and sales, as well as what is their commission draw program.

I'm in sales (NOT insurance...) Here's what I say about ALL sales careers. If you cannot take the emotional stress of picking up the phone and calling leads and customers and getting yes'es or no's, don't go into sales. Most people can't take the stress of no's and get to the point of not being able to pick up the phone and call or if they do it wears on them until it really eats up their personality and thier life. If you can't pick up the phone and call and leave the job at the office when you go home, get out. If you are in a job where you get too many no's, is it you or the job? You need to be able to tell how many no's is too many, if it's you, and if it's the job. You need to be able to change the you that you present, change the job (change companies or sell a different product in a different environment), or get out of sales. Not all sales jobs are the same. Working in a sales dept for a big company is very different from working for yourself as an independent, self-employed contractor/agent for a company. One may work great for you and the other may be a bust. Don't beat a dead horse if you're not making money. If you have a product that people want/need and your situation offers a convenient and cost effective solution, you shouldn't have trouble selling. If you have a chronic problem being able to pay the rent, get out. Change companies, products, the type of job you are in, you (your appearance, your skills, etc.) or get out of sales all together. Do what works for you, don't try to ice skate uphill. I'm not bad at what I do, have a lot of fun doing it, and the pay is good. I tried a lot of different things before I found something that worked.

i imagine she's a touch nuts. maximum engagements very last a million-2 years because it quite does take that lengthy to devise them. Doing a wedding ceremony on such short be conscious is amazingly puzzling or perhaps more effective stressful. To get your fiancee ti loosen up, possibly you may want to commence searching at stuff now. manage for a chain of visits to assorted venues for the marriage. Set it up so that you spot one a week over the subsequent month or so. tell your fiancee that you want to seem on the venues and then make an organization date (as maximum venues e book a year or more effective in strengthen). this may get her to loosen up a touch. Take one evening and in basic terms seem. when you've considered all the venues you position appointments for, then placed a deposit on one and set an organization date. i imagine you'll locate that in case you want a evening wedding ceremony, which maximum persons do, that maximum venues will already be thoroughly booked for this coming would and also you may enable the venue be the undesirable guy.

absolutely NOT....tangibles, hard goods, or things you can hold are much easier to sell than concepts.
