I had the same problem with my long eared bunney, you could pet him but not pick him up.Try to gain the rabbits trust by spended more time with it and feeding it by hand, that worked with my bunny. Eventually he will become more comfortable around you and let you pick him up.

Well, it depends. Do you want to keep the babies? I had a friend who owned a whole lot of rabbits/bunnies; but their family loves animals. They had three enormous cages for them, and had certain cages for breeding. If you do want to keep them, you'll need to keep the two adults apart, unless you want them to breed again. When the babies grow up, I can't say I really know, but I think it'd be best if you separated males from females. If you don't want to keep them, you can either give them away to a friend, a neighbor, anyone who wants a rabbit, or you can sell them. The first two rabbits I ever had were bought from people who lived nearby me for $20 each. They had already named the rabbits, but you can rename them any time.

Rabbits can be very tame. The problem is, you must spend time handling them every day for them to get used to it. Hold them close to your body while gently petting and stroking them, If they keep trying to wiggle away, hold the back feet together gently. If you persist in doing this, they will eventually be no different than a small lap dog. Mine even lays on his back to get his tummy rubbed!

He may not like the smell on their hands... Especially if they have been handling other animals.... Some rabbits just don't like to be handled.
