gamewise, a greatest hit is a remake to be sold cheaper
there are two reasons why it goes to GH status.
either they've already made their target sales, or they are hoping to make even more sales with a cheaper price
the game is exactly the same, i never heard about saving problems like one guy said, but it's quite possible
if you are buying to eventually sell, you'll do better getting the original version, because they aren't being made anymore.
if you are buying to play, get the GH version, GH doesn't sell for more than 19.99 or 24.99 or something, so go for cheaper if it's only to play
have fun!

Typically, there is no difference in content between the original game and the Greatest Hits version, because Sony frowns on doing that (their logic being that if it became habit, people wouldn't by the original games in the first place, and then there wouldn't be a Greatest Hits version at all). Later versions of the original San Andreas, as well as the Greatest Hits version, would have had the Hot Coffee segemtns completely removed from the game code. But that should be the only difference.

its mostly been covered.
but i noticed something else. if you start a game on the original version, (like say you rented it) then buy the greatest hits. for some reason, most games would accept the previous save.
like with vice city. i had the original version for a day. got an hour or two into the game. it stopped working. so i returned it, and they gave me the greatest hits version. it wouldnt read my saved game.

mainly the price and the cover. Also the price is 20 bucks and even lower for example...ace combat 4 i got it for 14.99 at walmart and its greatest hits. I think you should buy greatest hits because as soon as a company makes the certain money they wished to acheive, they drop it to gratest hits. I noticed that with the fast selling madden games and mortal combat games. If a game didnt do well but its old, they wont put it on greatest hits but it will drop in price and in stock like the bowling games and pinball games you see..Best answer would be awesome, hope this helped = )

Greastest hits are always cheaper. All of my greatest hits games were for 20 or 25 dollars. also, sometimes greatest hits games add a little something on to it.
