Here's my breakdown:
1. Pampers Swaddlers (the only thing I hate about these is that they only come in 1 and 2).. they're the best diapers
2. Huggies Supreme: great diapers next to these, and they have great leakage protection.
3. Pampers Cruisers
4.Pampers Baby Dry
5. Luvs
6. Huggies (regular)- I noticed when I buy my daughter these diapers it gets outside of the diaper...
And yes I tried all of these so that's how I rated these by quality and experience.

The trick is to find the brand and style that fits your baby, is most comfortable, prevents leaks. Unfortunately, there's no "correct" answer. Pampers and Huggies are great, but before you go and stock up on one or the other, buy smaller packages of a few to try (don't buy too many, or you will have difficulty comparing and keeping them straight). You may find out that a cheaper brand is even better for your baby... but you'll never know unless you try!

My personal faves are Boots own brand. Pampers are ok, but I don't get on with Huggies at all. We're just about to try Asda brand, and I've heard that Tesco brand are good too.

Natural Nappies;

100% Cotton prefold nappies in various sizes.
Breathable, waterproof nappy wraps in various sizes.
Nappy booster pads for added night time absorbency.
Flushable and biodegradable, one-way nappy liners.

Of course because they are cloth rather than commercial it means they are safe - commercial nappies are harmful to baby due to synthetic materials and chemicals used - they are environmentally friendly, very cheap and convenient, as well as highly fashionable. Natural Nappies is a London based company who are very well known so offer great nappies and service as well - http://www.naturalnappies.co.uk

I always liked Pampers for diapers but Huggies had the best pull ups.

Depends on the age of my child. I first loved Pampers then I switched to Huggies Supreme and then now I use Costco's brand (Kirkland) diapers because I'm saving tons of money and they work really well.

Pampers, i used them with my 1st child, my 2nd child is now 6 months a friend suggested that huggies are better for holding urine, oh how wrong she was, my poor baby was wet and if she did a no 2 it was all up her back, poor little love so back to pampers again and will always use them.

my g/f and i tried some of the various brands mentioned in other answers and the 3 biggest problems we had with them(Huggies, White Cloud, Pampers, Kids Choice) was that our daughter would rash up bigtime from those brands, plus at night the diaper would be soaked through so much you wouldnt even want to touch the front to take them off. another problem we had with the other brands was blowouts, which would happen on a regular basis and we'd be changing outfits several times a day just for that. we switched to LUVS to try them and didnt have anymore problems, except for it took ALOT of convincing to get her mom to switch. with the LUVS we dont have problems with blowouts unless its nothing but diarrhea that shes sitting in for a couple hours or the legband flexes just right. and among quite a few of our coworkers that we are friends with and have kids about the same age, they all agree LUVS are the best they have tried. its just too bad we couldn't convince LUVS to come film a commercial with all of us in it together, our kids all playing together. plus, one more secret: i use GV cornstarch one my daughters butt. she is always coming home with a rash from her grams house cuz either they dont use powder at all or the cornstarch type they have, which is restaurant grade cornstarch, iritatates her butt so bad, and me using the GV(Wal-Mart brand) cornstarch usually clears her up in a couple days in liberal amounts each diaper, especially at bedtime. i dump at least twice as much on at that time.

pampers for a girl, huggies for a boy,i have 2 daughters and 2 sons,my daughters leaked through huggies,my sons leaked through pampers, but personally if i had to pick,i'd say huggies are a nicer nappy, they've got good stretch and fit snuggly.got to say though, none of my children have suffered with nappy using either of these brands, but have done with cheapers brands, they are only good for the first few weeks of a babies life, when they dont wee as much, and when they decide to poo as soon as you change their nappy.
