Mary, it is the nature of the beast. I am a manager of a hospice and I have a staff of seven. All but two, a nurse and the Chaplin are women. I have never settled a dispute between the men, but I have some one yaa-yaaing every week between the women. My dad once told me that the only problem with the secretarial pool at work was it was made up entirely of women. I thought he was being a chauvinist at one time, now, I know exactly what he meant.

Not all women are like that, some of us do not allow ourselves to get involved in such B.S.
I believe that women like to get involved in gossip, because while they are talking about someone else, it gives them time to forget about how much in common they have with the people they are talking nasty about.

because women feel like they are in competition with each other, and some feel like spreading lies and gossiping about another person will make them feel better about themselves because they figure atleast no one is talking about them......
