ok so i just turned 12 and a few days ago i started having these signs and my mom thinks i might get my first period soon. cuz my back and stomach hurts and i had these wierd mood swings and im craving chocolate. im having trouble concentrating and thats really weird for me. do you think ill get my period soon?

u will get other sing like breast hurt
very tired
pubic hair
breast
increase in discharge
so on you have all them and the rest you will probz get it soo

There is such a thing as Premenstrual Syndrome, in which we feel different things. Others feel headache prior to their menstruation, while others feel breast pains, abdominal cramps & others like mood swings & there are alot more. The reason for this is that we are having hormonal changes in our body.
This is the age groups that usually have their Menarche or their first menstruation. I had mine at 10 years old. You should always be prepared to bring sanitary napkins. You might never know when are you gonna have this. You might have this while you are in school. I had mine in school.

It could be tomorrow or, honestly, it could still be months or even a year away. It would be great for us girls if there were signs that it was coming any day now so we could be prepared, but it doesn't really work that way. It does sound like you're having PMS symptom, so best to be prepared by having at least a pad or two in your purse in case it starts away from home.

No one really knows for sure when anyone will start their period.
You are dealing with lots of growing and changing hormones right now.
If you feel better about it wear a thin pad to school and take some in your back pack.
It is so exciting to be growing up. Enjoy the ride.

I think those are signs your getting your period. You most likely won't have a "full blown" period for your first time, and it usually won't be blood red (it will be more brownish) that is normal.
Best thing about getting your period is knowing you are offically a woman!
You and your mom should go out to a movie to celebrate!

Sounds very possible. It could come very soon or you could go on experiencing these symptoms for months before it actually happens. It's a funny thing but it will eventually start. That is one thing you can count on! Good luck.

you could. or it could just be hormones. i didnt get my period until i was 15. i had some signs when i was about 14. so i guess it depends. ps. periods suck

give it some time. i got mine when i was 13 relax. it will come. if it doesnt when your 17 then thats a problem.
