Congratulations to womanhood. Every woman is different. I remember mine (42 years ago) and it came like gangbusters. I also was wearing white pants! I was totally unprepared! I took it easy for a couple hours. Make sure you drink lots of water and go easy on carbs (not too much sugary things); make sure you get enough iron since you are losing a little blood, but don't get scared or upset that you're abnormal unless this goes on for more than 5 days and profusely. I had that when I went through menopause. I eventually needed a pituitary supplement since my bleeding would not stop. My chiropractor figured that out. The internist and gynocologist couldn't help me!! I go to one who does muscle testing and treats with natural "Standard Process" supplements. God bless you. You're probably just fine. P>S> my daughter stopped having periods for awhile because of stress. The chiro also tested her and found out that it was stress related and she needed to rest a little more and have more water, and make sure she was getting enough iron supplements or red meat. Sometimes red raspberry leaves also helps and vitex or chasteberry herb which balances your hormones! I appreciate God's natural herbs!

There's not a lot of "supposed to" when it comes to your period. Some girls/women get really light ones, some get really heavy ones, some get terrible cramps and bloating, some get almost no side effects, some get theirs every 28 days like clockwork and some have theirs really irregularly. There's a very, very wide range of normal. Unless you're soaking through a pad every hour or two, yours is probably right there within the normal range.

Everyone is different. My first period was heavy (I think it lasted 8 or 9 days) and I had major cramping. But, I have friends who say they were really light and had no cramping. Lucky!
