I woke up this morning with a pain in my back on the right. It's located in one direct spot and I just got over my period two days ago so I'm not ovulating or pregnant. It hurts some when I bend just barely and it's not like muscle related. I also have had no appetite today. Could this be a kidney infection? I've never had one before.

make sure you are checking to see if you are running a fever or not--could be a bladder infection-does it burn when you pee? Also be aware you could have a kidney stone-as that is where you would have pain--you must be checked by a Doc and have a urin test done as either way-bladder infection or kidney stone-get worse and do not go away by themselves.
Also want to add-maybe you pulled a muscle--but the answer lies in the urine for the others-note its amount-frequency-color-smell--please see a doc

Drink lots of water and cranberry juice. Also cranberry supplements can help, since the sugar/or corn syrup in cranberry juice is not good for kidney. Stay low on sugar and white flour products or cereal. Eat a low carb diet for awhile and eat yogurt with Low sugar or no sugar / corn syrup in it. Take a good acidophilus and the above. If you can't clear it in a couple weeks, then see your doctor.

Symptoms...pain, fever, fatigue, burning sensation when urinating, frequent urination in small amounts

Drink plenty of water and Cranberry juice (Cran-Grape is fine.) Absolutely no sodas until you are cured. I rarely have to go to the doctor for a kidney infection. Cranberry juice works fine for me. It is a natural antibiotic and diuretic.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
