nThe roots of the perverted swastika go all the way back to the American Indians. I believe it was a religious symbol. It was also a state symbol in Germany, that Hitler stole & turned it into something evil.

If you mean the Swasticka...it was a symbol that the Nazi's misused. The symbol appears in a great many cultures across the globe (Greek, Chinese, Tibetan, Northern European, Egyptian, Native American) and in all of them it means the same thing in all of them. It is a smybol of the sun's power and luck. The Nazi's used it simply becasue it was an ancient Germanic symbol that was many centuries old. Also, they used it becasue of the Tibetan connection since they beleived that the Tibetans represented early-aryan people and possessed great spiritual power.
The symbol is still used by many that follow the Germanic religion and really has nothing to do with Nazi's even though they still misuse it. (the same why that Satanists use the christian cross in its reversed form). Most who uses the symbol religiously or magically don't normally have it where it can be seen by outsiders, but some are willing to take the step.

It may have originally had meaning in the Hindu or Buddhist cultures. I saw it on the doors of a Hindu building where Yoga was practiced. What it means I don't know.
Nonetheless, the symbol has taken on such hateful meaning and is associated with racism and hate more than anything else in anyone's mind.
The girl needs to grow up and realize what she's doing will make a lot of good people unnecessarily uncomfortable. Even if what she says is true.

She is probably just a misunderstood individual, but she's not sick or disturbed. She's just different and different is good. We don't all want to be the same, do we?
I know that the swastika was a good symbol that got bad press because the nazis used it. I'm not sure what it means tho, sorry.
I think it's great that you are trying to find out about it tho, i think this girl would really appreciate someone taking the time to find out more about her interests.
Why don't you ask her about it, i'm sure she would be happy to tell you about it if you are genuinely interested, which you clearly are.

The Nazi Swastika was a reversed (backwards) version of an ancient hindu symbol - the two bear no relation in meaning.
The swastika (from Sanskrit सà¥à¤µà¤¸à¥à¤¤à¤¿à¤ svastika, from su "well", and asti "being", thus "good fortune" or "well-being") is an equilateral cross with its arms bent at right angles in either left-facing (å) or right-facing (å) direction. The swastika is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Odinism.[1] The Hindu version is often decorated with a dot in each quadrant.
However, in the Western world, it is most widely known and used as a symbol of Nazism (the Hakenkreuz, "hook-cross") and this political association has eclipsed its historical status as the fylfot.
It is traditionally oriented so that a main line is horizontal, though it is occasionally rotated at forty-five degrees.

I assume that you are referring to the Swastika. It is indeed a holy symbol to Buddhism as well as Hinduism. I suggest that the lady in question probably does not know these facts. Most in the west equate the symbol with the evil of fascism. As a Buddhist, I would not use the symbol as it is so associated with the evil of Nazi Germany.

There are veriations of the symbol in different cultures throughout history.. compare what she is drawing with the nazi symbol... if it is the natzi symbole she is either ignorant of the signifigance or a hate group wannna be... if it is backwards it is still more likly to be misconstrued so should not be displayed in public... the nazes corrupted all vaariations for ever with their evil.

Actually the "nazi symbol" is a symbol used in the Far East meaning "good luck"...AND it was also used by some American Indian tribes.
Just like the Christo-nazis of today, the nazis perverted a perfectly innocent thing and turned it into a symbol of death, hate, fear and destruction.

The fact that the swastika is taboo today does not change the fact that it's roots are not in evil, and it was originally a symbol of good fortune and is still a sacred symbol to multiple religions.
On the flipside, the fact that the swastika's roots are not in evil does not change the fact that it is taboo today.
