I use to play The Sims alot but my computer crashed after a month or so break of the game. I had Livin' Large, House Party, and Unleashed. I now want to start playing again but I can't decide if I want to get The Complete Collection or The Sims 2. I have heard mixed reviews on both and only have money for one. So which one is worth the investment?

The Sims 2 without a doubt. The characters are more realistic, there are more interractions for your sims, you can have toddlers and teenagers and college students (if you get University), you can build better houses, and best of all...now you can have pets! The list goes on and on of what you can do in Sims 2 that you cant do in Sims..I havent touched my Sims game since I got Sims 2 and the possibilities are endless. Its well worth the money.

I agree with everyone else, Sims 2 all the way.
but, I disagree with the person above who said it takes alot of memory...the Sims 2 takes no more memory than all the stuff you had. In fact, my computer has run alot faster since I uninstalled and removed all of the originals Sims games and installed The Sims 2.
Definately go for it. Best decision ever.

Sims 2, hands down, is better. The original Sims is limited on certain things, whereas the Sims 2 is more open. It's more realistic. The sims are actually able to move around things better. They don't get stuck like they use to if someone is in their way. Plus you can watch them grow up. You can have babies (twins even) and you can watch them grow old and die too. Sad but true. With the expansion packs its gives you even more choices. Like I just got Sims: Nighlife and my sims can now drive themselves to work, go out to clubs, bowling and late night dinners. Its cool. You should try it.

SIMs 2 is better in that the animation and everything is smoother, downloads are much easier to install (as is custom-making clothes, hair, objects, et cetera), you can do more with them (like leave the house to go shopping), and the expansion packs are much better. (If you're an animal lover, the SIMs 2 Pets expansion pack was just releashed not too long ago.)

The Sims 2 is by far the best investment you will ever make. You actually have lifetime wants, daily wants, aspirations, rewards, days off from your job, night and day, cars (nightlife), college (university), you can have family trees, they go from baby-toddler-child-teenager-adult-and then elder. It has better graphics and its in 3d.........http://www.thesims2.ea.com

the only bad thing is it take a lot out of your computer memory wise and all.
