If you're written HTML into notepad and save, you cannot save as .html
So you should instead create a new .html file, and then open this within notepad. Then any saves will be made to this file.

Then double-click the file to open in a web browser to view the finished product.

Save the code as an HTML document then open it in the browser of your choice.
To view your updates and changes, just save the notepad document and refresh the browser window.
Dead simple.

Save the file somewhere on your hard drive. Go to that directory and double-click on the file. It should open in your preferred web browser.

Make sure you change the choice for "Save as type" to "All files" and give your file an extension of either htm or html.
