I have 3 kids........ages ~ 6 (boy) just turned 6. 7 (girl) will be 8 in 6 months. & 7 (girl) will be 8 in dec. ~ Now that one is a riddle huh? The middle girl is my step daughter.
BUT anyway....they are about that age where they want what is "cool". what are some cool toys for children of that age?

I like the crafty stuff for the girls...beads..make your own bracelets...pottery...make your own candles...they are fun projects then they have them to keep...and they take pride in their work...
I have 3 boys..ages 5, 7, 9...they really like...bionicles, playdough, and of course...video games...playstation and nintendo ds are big!

My kids, ages 10 and 6 said for me to tell you x-box 360 (but expensive), and Playstation 3, which is going to be VERY difficult to get ahold of. The game King Kong for x-box 360. They, unfortunately for me and you, could not come up with anything less expensive. Good luck.

the girls would probably like those "Bratz" dolls or anything with either Barbie or the Disney princesses.
those sneakers with the wheels on them are 'cool', (Heelys Roller Shoes)
charm bracelets
any clothing with bling, i.e. crystals
V-Smile for the TV is easy to hook up and has educational games for kids of all ages. im sure all your kids will like it.
Although TMX Tickle Me Elmo is a hot item, it is for younger children.

For the girls try some 'make-up' some lip smacker and a little eye-shadow and for the boy stuff like a plastic sports set or dump truck.
