I have a friend who was under the influence of marijuana and he believed he was going to die. Is it likely he would die because he thought he was going to die?

I believe that we do manifest our thoughts. If we are fearful of something and it is consuming our thoughts we can make it happen. That is why it is so important to keep our thoughts positive. It can also work for us by thinking positively when we are in a health crisis. That is why oncologists teach visualization techniques to patients with cancer. They teach them to visualize the treatments and medicine killing the cancer cells. I know from experience that you can cure yourself with positive thoughts. I had a herniated disc in my seventh cervical disc which needed surgery. I had excruciating pain for almost a year before it was diagnosed with an MRI. I saw the herniated disc myself in the MRI films. I refused to have surgery on my spine and decided to cure it myself. I used positive healing affirmations five or six times a day and visualized the disc healing. The doctor kept calling me to schedule surgery and after a couple of months I told him I had no more pain. I went back to the doctor and he did another MRI and the disc was healed. He was amazed. Positive thinking works.

In a healthy person, NO, I don't think that mere brainpower, or negative thoughts could cause death. The human mind though, is powerful, and it can affect our health. Stress has been proved to lower our immune systems, raise our blood pressure, even our cholesterol. And it is very common that in the elderly, a surviving spouse will die shortly after their mate did! And the placebo effect in medicine also proves the power your mind has on oyur health.
But in the case of your friend, No: if he's just freaking out from being high, he's not going to cause his own demise. (Unless of course he got up and ran outside and got hit by a truck in the street!) LOL

No. There has to be some physical cause of his death. I do not believe that is possible. Even if he does achieve control over his vital body functions and can cause them to cease, once he passes out his body functions will return to normal functioning. It is not likely that someone who uses drugs is capable of this type of control.
