Not only do the Cardinals often approach non-Pitchers with a "small market" salary focus, A-Rod would be a much better fit on the South Side of Chicago (disclaimer: I am NOT a WSox fan.) The Yankees would need an ARod replacement at 3rd and a SP or 2. The WSox are deep at those positions and could afford a package of Crede, Buehrle and a 3rd P (Cotts?) for A-Rod.

Add to that the fact that WSox GM Kenny Williams likes to make eyebrow raising, if not shocking, trades and there may be substance to a deal here.

Oh, and A-Rod's contract is no longer $25M/year (that was the overall avg); he will make $64M over the last 4 years for an avg of $16M/year. Regardless, the WSox could afford to take him on, especially since Buehrle's $9.5M option for '07 eats up over 1/2 of what ARod will make next year.

God I hope not. StL owners and fans are not big on big $ players that have bad postseason stats. The market is too small and the team is too important to the town. They prefer a steal - Pujols made the league minimum his first 3 years and is still less paid that A rod.

If A-Rod goes anywhere it'll probably be the White Sox, but don't expect him to leave the Yankees. He's not a good influence for a clubhouse anywhere, even in the already deflated and lifeless Yankee clubhouse, so it's not even his dollar cost that is a dangerous burden.

Nope, hes probably staying in New York but if he goes anywhere, he'lll go to the Cubs or the Angels.

AROD will be in yankee pinstripes again next year! Because at his price tag the yankees are the only team that can afford him. PLUS cashman says he is not on the block.

No he would veto any trade to the Cards. It is well known that he loves Pinella but don't know if the Cubs would want that contract and what they would have to give up in return.

he'd either go to hte sox or the cubs... i think, but he wont go to the sox becasiue ozzie made a comment about him nad he didnt like it, but Pinella was a Yankee coacha and he wasnt A rod,if we get arod, then they will probably wan zambrano, but we cant do that b/c we have no pitching.
